Simple and tasty baked chicken

Ingredients

  • 2 fresh onions
  • 1 handful of cherry tomatoes
  • bay leaf
  • 1 small handful coarse salt
  • pepper
  • 1 farm chicken weighing approximately 1.8 kg
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • 1 cl of lemon juice
  • 1 chicken bouillon cube dissolved in a glass of water

Instructions

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 200°C (thermostat 6). Place two cloves of garlic and the bay leaves inside the chicken.

Prepare the sauce by mixing the lemon juice and the glass of chicken broth. Generously drizzle the chicken and pour the remaining juice into the dish.

Sprinkle coarse salt on the chicken.

Place the chicken in the dish, with the onions quartered and the cherry tomatoes.

Place the chicken in the oven for about 1 hour and 40 minutes at 200°C. (After 20 minutes of cooking, turn the chicken and let it cook for another 20 minutes, then place it back in its original position for the remainder of the cooking time)

Attention: Baste the chicken with its juices as often as possible during cooking (add water if necessary). The chicken will be even more tender!

Step 7

Retrieve the juice at the end of cooking, with the tomatoes and onions, in a bowl, and place on the table, with a nice green salad and a sauté of new potatoes.
